As part of CrossComics, I participated in the CrossComics Market held in Rotterdam, where I presented my illustration and narrative-based works in a physical, public setting. The market brought together artists from different countries and backgrounds, focusing on independent, experimental, and illustration-driven practices.
Throughout the event, my work was displayed and shared directly with visitors, allowing for one-on-one interaction and feedback. Engaging with audiences from diverse cultural contexts gave me valuable insight into how my illustrations communicate beyond the digital space and how printed work functions as a storytelling medium.
For me, CrossComics Market was not only a place to exhibit or sell work, but also an opportunity to experience illustration as a form of public communication. Observing how people responded to the narratives, characters, and compositions strengthened my understanding of visual storytelling and audience engagement.
This experience became an important part of my practice, reinforcing my interest in presenting illustration in both physical and social spaces, and in connecting drawing with dialogue, exchange, and shared experience.
